MORE THAN A RIDING SCHOOL.

A PLACE TO BELONG, GROW & DREAM.

Where horses bring people together, friendships grow and everyone has the chance to discover what they're capable of.

WELCOME TO BALLYLEIGH

At Ballyleigh, we believe riding is about so much more than simply sitting on a horse.

It's about building confidence.

Learning responsibility.

Making friends.

Developing new skills.

Creating memories.

And discovering the special bond between horse and rider.

Founded in 2009, Ballyleigh Riding School is a family-run equestrian centre in Waterfall, Cork, welcoming riders of different ages and abilities.

Whether you're sitting on a pony for the very first time, returning to riding after years away, developing your skills, preparing for competition or simply looking for somewhere you feel at home around horses — there's a place for you here.

FIND YOUR PLACE AT BALLYLEIGH

However you found your way to horses, there's a place for you at Ballyleigh.

Horse Riding Lessons

Learn. Ride. Progress. Enjoy.

From complete beginners to experienced riders, our lessons are designed to build confidence, develop skills and help every rider progress at their own pace.

Pony Camps

More than just a riding camp.

School holiday days filled with ponies, riding, horse care, games, friendship, fun and adventure.

Events & Competitions

Something for everyone.

From show jumping and pony events to special activities and competitions, there's always something happening at Ballyleigh.

Livery

A friendly home for you and your horse.

A welcoming yard community with horse welfare at the heart of everything we do.

MORE THAN JUST RIDING

Because learning to ride is only part of the journey.

At Ballyleigh, we want our riders to understand horses — not just ride them.

Our riders have opportunities to learn about:

Grooming • Tacking Up • Feeding • Catching • Handling • Stable Management • Horse Welfare • Riding • Jumping • Teamwork

We believe that the best riders aren't just those who can ride well — they're those who understand, respect and care for the horse beneath them.

Because the relationship between horse and rider is at the heart of everything we do.

Why Ballyleigh ?

❤️ FAMILY RUN

A friendly, welcoming riding school where riders and families become part of our community.

🐴 HORSE WELFARE

We teach riders that caring for horses is just as important as riding them.

⭐ CONFIDENCE

We encourage riders to progress at their own pace and celebrate their achievements along the way.

🏆 PROGRESSION

From complete beginners to riders developing their jumping and competition skills.

👧 FRIENDSHIP & COMMUNITY

A place where riders meet, friendships grow and people become part of the Ballyleigh family.

🌿 A LOVE OF HORSES

Our goal is to create riders who don't just enjoy riding — they understand and respect horses too.

EVERY DREAM STARTS SOMEWHERE

For one rider, the dream might be sitting on a pony for the very first time.

For another, it might be learning to trot independently.

Maybe it's learning to canter.

Jumping your first fence.

Going to your first show.

Winning your first rosette.

Overcoming a fear.

Moving up a level.

Or simply becoming more confident than you were yesterday.

YOUR DREAM DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THE BIGGEST ONE.

If it matters to you, it matters to us.

At Ballyleigh, we want every rider to have the opportunity to discover what they're capable of and work towards whatever their own personal goals may be.

Everyone starts somewhere.

THE BALLYLEIGH COMMUNITY

People come to Ballyleigh for many different reasons.

Some come to learn to ride.

Some come with their horses.

Some come for pony camps and events.

Some come to compete.

Some come because their children love ponies.

And some come as children and stay for a lifetime.

What brings us together is the horses — but what keeps us here are the people, the friendships and the feeling of belonging.
